LBA Chairman & CEO Ruben Guerra Selected as Director of Mexico Representing R20 and 7th Generation Advisors

Los Angeles, California- September 2012- Latin Business Association Chairman & CEO Ruben Guerra has been selected as the Director of Mexico, representing R20- Regions of Climate Action- and the SGA- Seventh Generation Advisors, led by SGA President Terry Tamminen.

Recognized as an important leader in the Latin Business Community and, more particularly, with his extensive contacts in Mexico at a local, state and federal level, Mr. Guerra is seen as an ideal candidate to help implement the R20/SGA Mission of reducing the carbon footprint in Mexico.

R20 Regions of Climate Action

The R20 Regions of Climate Action, a non-profit organization founded in 2011 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and other global leaders in cooperation with the United Nations, is a coalition of partners led by regional governments that work to promote and implement projects that are designed to produce:

  • local economic and environmental benefits in the form of reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions
  • strong local economies
  • improved public health
  • and new green jobs,
  • local actions which can help the world achieve shared global environmental and economic goals.

    Through its 24 Members, 43 Partners and 2 Observers, the R20’s activities connect more than 560 subnational and local governments around the world.

    To help states, provinces, regions and other subnational governments around the world develop, implement and communicate low-carbon and climate-resilient economic development projects, policies and best practices.

    Since its creation in late 2010, the SGA team has helped design and implement the goals of the R20 Regions of Climate Action (R20). This new global organization is a public-private partnership that brings together diverse alliances of subnational governments and partners to develop, finance, implement, evaluate, communicate and replicate low-carbon and climate resilient projects.
