A Message from LBA Chairman and CEO Ruben Guerra:
“It has been my pleasure and privilege to serve for an unprecedented nine years as Chairman & CEO of the LBA. We are now proudly celebrating 41 years of dedicated service to the Latin- and small-business communities. Our goal of continuing to build relationships in order to create new business opportunity for our members and provide outstanding service remains constant. Together, we have expanded and will continue to expand the LBA’s positive sphere of influence on the local, state, national and international levels.
2015 marks a milestone achievement for the LBA- the grand opening of our new offices in Mexico City, which I believe will add tremendous value for our members and corporate partners that do business in Mexico. The LBA has many partners in Mexico including Corporate Mexico, Federal, State and City Governments. With our new international offices located within the vibrant capitol we can now facilitate meetings and trade missions for LBA Member Business Owners in California to Mexico, and from Mexico to California. Because there are so many new opportunities opening in Mexico, the time is right for the LBA to take the lead in international trade with Mexico and am very excited to present this new avenue for global trade development.
The LBA has a well-established reputation as a powerful advocate both economically and politically for Latin-owned businesses not only throughout California, where we currently represent over 800,000, but also nationally. We look forward to continuing our tradition of advocacy in our state capitol through LBA Legislative Day in Sacramento in April, as well as in Washington, DC.
Supplier Diversity has become an increasingly vital concern for major corporations. It is an established fact that those with a strong inclusion culture and diverse supplier outreach achieve far greater economic growth, innovation and competitiveness. The LBA stands at the forefront of advancing diverse business opportunity through a variety of powerful events in 2015: our first ever LBA Northern California Minority Women’s Business Conference (MWBC)- “Supplier Diversity Made Simple” in Sacramento in May; the LBA Business Road Trip Series: “Paving the Way to Success,” in July; the 6th Annual LBA Southern California MWBC in August; and the LBA Global Business Conference in September. This promises to be a most exciting year for LBA diverse-supplier advancement and we are grateful for the sustained and generous support of our Corporate Partners, without which none of this would be possible.
Welcome to the LBA, and thank you for your interest and continued support. I heartily encourage your active participation in our programs and events and personally invite you to consider participation on the LBA Board and its Committees to further our collective mission.”
