Governor Brown appointed Tanya Little as business development program manager at the Department of General Services on July 25, 2014, where she has been assistant chief and program manager at the Office of Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Services since 2011 and has served in several positions since 2008, including acting branch chief and assistant office chief.
Little will be responsible for enhancing collaboration, partnership, and commerce with the state’s small businesses, disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs), and emerging and under-represented business groups by partnering with the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development’s (GO-Biz) Small Business Advocate, the California Department of Veterans Affairs’ DVBE Advocate, and state procurement and contract executives, in addition to state, federal, local and private organizations to broaden the number of certified businesses to contract for the provision of goods and services to the state.
Ms. Little was customer service manager at the California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board from 2007 to 2008 and served in several positions at the California Department of Motor Vehicles from 1975 to 2007, including Oakland field office manager, El Cerrito field office manager, and Pittsburg field office manager.
Little is also chair of the DGS Disability Advisory Committee and a member of the Association of California State Supervisors.
