Armida Brother began her career at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in 1983. She has worked in various capacities for the SBA such as SCORE Coordinator, Liquidation Assistant and currently serves as Business Opportunity Specialist. For over twenty five years Armida has focused her attention on the growth and development of small businesses and their continued success.
In 2007, Ms. Brother was transferred to the SBA’s Section 8(a) Business Development Division, where she began her journey into Business Development. Armida’s job is to promote three of the primary SBA programs: 8(a) Business Development; Hub Zone; and Women-owned Small Business. Her primary function is to oversee and assist 40 8(a) firms through the SBA 8(a) Business Development program through outreach, marketing, training, education and development, helping them gain access to new economic opportunities and grow their small businesses. The overall program goal is to graduate successful companies that will thrive in a competitive business environment and continue to create jobs.
