The LBA Sol Business Awards Gala is the Latin Business Association’s premiere annual black tie event. The 2011 Gala – celebrating the 35th year anniversary of the LBA – was a spectacular success! The LBA Sol Business Awards Gala, which traditionally recognizes and awards outstanding entrepreneurs and corporations for their accomplishments and contributions to the Latino Business Community, is a star-studded event involving the who’s who of the entrepreneurial, corporate and political worlds. The 2011 Gala not only maintained that tradition but exceeded expectations by presenting much more besides.

The beautiful and historical Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles provided the perfect setting for this elegant evening which celebrates Latino excellence and was the appropriate backdrop for the nation’s largest and most-respected Hispanic Business Trade Organization to celebrate its thirty-five years of serving Latino entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes.

Traditional LBA Sol Business Awards Categories

The LBA traditionally presents the following Sol Business Awards at the Gala:

The LBA Sol Business of the Year award acknowledges outstanding achievement of businesses of varying size: Companies with less than $1 million in annual revenue; Companies with $1 to $5 million in annual revenue; Companies with $5 to $10 million in annual revenue and Companies with over $10 million in annual revenue.

Each company must demonstrate a proven track record of sustained growth, performance improvement and organizational structure that promotes growth and innovation through its leadership system and workforce involvement.

The LBA Corporation of the Year is presented to one or more corporations which provide contracting opportunities and comprehensive support to Latino-owned businesses.

The LBA Advocate of the Year recognizes an individual for his or her active support of and dedication to causes and/or positions which promote the advancement of the Latino community.

Special Awards for 2011

In commemoration their 35th year anniversary, the LBA also presented the following special awards at the 2011 Gala :

This special award acknowledges a corporation which provides outstanding educational, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for Latino youth.

This special award acknowledges a corporation which provides access to outstanding programs and services which promote the general health and well-being of the Latino community.

Community Hero Awards

In addition to the above-mentioned awards, and in commemoration of its 35th year anniversary, the Latin Business Association opened the 2011 Gala with a special VIP Reception entitled Community Hero Awards, recognizing and honoring one US Armed Forces soldier for each year of the LBA’s existence.
