The National Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. ® (NMSDC®) provides a direct link between corporate America and minority-owned businesses. NMSDC is one of the country’s leading business membership organizations.

The National Minority Supplier Development Council advances business opportunities for certified Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American business enterprises and connects them to corporate members. One of the country’s leading corporate membership organizations, NMSDC was chartered in 1972 to provide increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes.

The NMSDC Network includes a National Office in New York and 36 regional councils across the country. There are 3,500 corporate members throughout the network, including most of America’s largest publicly-owned, privately-owned and foreign-owned companies, as well as universities, hospitals and other buying institutions. The regional councils certify and match more than 16,000 minority-owned businesses with member corporations which want to purchase their products and services.

NMSDC, headquartered in New York City, is an organization comprised of a network of 37 affiliate regional councils across the country, including SCMSDC-Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council, all of whom provide minority business certification and business development opportunities. NMSDC has over 15,000 certified minority owned businesses in its network.

About SCMSDC- Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council

Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council (SCMSDC) is the largest nonprofit minority business advocacy organization in the region, representing the interests of more than 600,000 Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), serving nearly 1,700 SCMSDC-Certified MBEs and 300 corporate members throughout a 13-county service area.

SCMSDC’s mission is “to be the premiere organization strengthening economic ties between large, public-, private- and foreign-owned corporations and minority men- and women-owned business enterprises.”

The council achieves this by providing:

  • Nationally recognized ethnic-minority certification
  • Strategic networking between corporate member procurement professionals and certified minority women and men entrepreneurs

SCMSDC is one of 36 regional councils in the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) network. SCMSDC, along with all National Minority Supplier Development Council affiliates, provide minority business certification, a process that adheres to the NMSDC’s strict guidelines.
