LBA Signature Events are comprehensive, large-scale events that are held on an annual basis. Like the smaller, more informal LBA Member Events, LBA Signature Events are designed to build economic wealth and generate new business opportunities for our member business owners and entrepreneurs.

2014 marks the 38th year of the Latin Business Association’s proudly advocating for Latin-owned businesses–over 800,000 Latin-owned businesses throughout the State of California alone!
LBA LEGISLATIVE DAY in Sacramento, the annual pilgrimage to our state capitol, provides a forum for our members to engage in the legislative process. LBA Member and Partner Business Owners meet with key elected officials, legislators and agency directors and network with a variety of government officials to discuss important issues facing small- and Latin-owned businesses in California in the coming years. It also gives us the opportunity to inform them on what the LBA is doing to bolster the Latin Business Community. A luncheon and/or reception is included as part of LBA LEGISLATIVE DAY in Sacramento.
Note: As with all LBA events, which are designed to generate wealth and business opportunity, LBA LEGISLATIVE DAY may also include scheduled meetings with procurement representatives of LBA Partner State Agencies to connect participants to new contracting opportunities with the State of California.

The LBA/LBA-Institute Boot Camp Training Program is a seven-week course designed to provide business owners the tools they need to secure major supplier diversity contracting opportunities. This excellent, comprehensive seven-week training program, with twenty-eight hours of individualized instruction is a $4,000.00 retail value!
The objectives of the LBA Boot camp Program are to ensure development of the four vital areas of participants’ Business Infrastructure; provide the tools necessary for them to become business and contract-ready- making them more familiar with their own operational strengths and weaknesses- and to navigate the complex diverse-supplier contract/procurement process and procedures. By the end of the Boot Camp, participating business owners will have successfully applied for at least two SBE Certifications!

Supplier Diversity is the motivation and incentive driving the LBA Business Road Trip Series: “Paving the Way to Success.” The Road Trip Series’ are designed to connect LBA Member Business Owners and Professionals to new business opportunities with Corporate America.
How does it work? We round up 50 or more diverse LBA Member Business Owners that are seeking to do business with utilities, banks, hotels, etc. and fully-screen them to make sure they are ready to do business. The LBA charters a bus and in one or two days will typically visit three (3) companies to do business with. The three companies choose to host a breakfast, lunch or reception wherein participants meet the buyers and have the opportunity to connect directly with them to new contracting opportunities.

Supplier Diversity Made Simple!
Supplier Diversity – defined by the creating of partnerships which contribute to the growth and prosperity of minority-, women- and disadvantaged-owned businesses – is what the LBA Minority Women’s Business Conference (MWBC) is all about. The Latin Business Association is at the vanguard of promoting diverse supplier opportunity, particularly through the LBA Minority Women’s Business Conference.
The LBA MWBC – originally formed in 2010 to encourage and lead women particularly into the under-represented fields of energy and telecommunications, allowing them to learn directly from the top Women Executives in these industries how to successfully obtain a contract – features insightful discussions, expert panelists and presentations covering a broad range of topics.
For 2014, the LBA is excited tp expand the diverse outreach of the Conference to include: Utilities & Technology; the Retail & Banking Industries; and Water & Government Agencies!

The annual LBA Sol Business Awards Gala is a one of the premier Latin business-networking events. The awards honor top entrepreneurs and corporations for major contributions to the success of Latin business.
The Sol Business Awards Gala traditionally presents the following honors: LBA Business of the Year, LBA Corporation of the Year and LBA Advocate of the Year. LBA Business of the Year awards are presented to companies with less than $1 million in revenue; $1 to $5 million in revenue; $5 to $10 million in revenue and over $10 million in revenue.
The Gala evening consists of a reception, awards presentation and dancing. Each attendee receives an attractively-bound, full-color program booklet commemorating the celebration with sponsor acknowledgments and LBA information. This elegant black tie event involves the “who’s-who” of the Latino entrepreneurial, corporate and political worlds!
The Gala presents a variety of excellent Sponsorship Opportunities, which we welcome companies to consider. We also encourage nominations of deserving, qualified companies for consideration for an LBA Sol Business Award.

The LBA Christmas Celebration and Toy Drive celebrates our Members’ and Corporate Partners’ participation, while brightening the lives of underprivileged children. We conclude the year by expressing our appreciation for the generous, sustained support of our membership, sponsors and partners which make each year successful for the LBA and more prosperous for the community. At the same time, charitable donations of new, unwrapped toys bring smiles to needy children in the community and spread the spirit of the holiday season. The LBA invites other organizations to join and become collaborative partners. Together, the LBA, its Partners and members of the community participate in a well-organized distribution of toys, which includes a visit from Santa Claus and lots of holiday music and cheer!
