LBA Sol Business Awards Gala
The annual LBA Sol Business Awards Gala is a one of the premier Latino business-networking events. The awards honor entrepreneurs and corporations for major contributions to the success of Latino business. The Sol Business Awards Gala presents the following honors: LBA Business of the Year, LBA Corporation of the Year and LBA Advocate of the Year. LBA Business of the Year awards are presented to companies with less than $1 million in revenue; $1 to $5 million in revenue; $5 to $10 million in revenue and over $10 million in revenue. The Gala evening consists of a reception, awards presentation and dancing. Each attendee receives an elegantly-bound, full-color program booklet commemorating the celebration with sponsor acknowledgments and LBA information. This elegant black tie event involves the “who’s-who” of the Latino entrepreneurial, corporate and political worlds.
3rd Annual LBA Minority Women’s Business Conference (MWBC)
The LBA Minority Women’s Business Conference aims to provide a welcoming and supportive technology and energy business environment for minority groups, particularly women. It will feature insightful discussions, panelists and presentations with a broad range of topics. The MWBC was formed to encourage and lead women into the under-represented fields of energy and technology. The Women’s Conference allows women in business to connect with top Women Executives from utility and telecommunications companies and focuses on how women in business not only can meet the buyers but also successfully obtain a contract. The year 2012 will mark the 3rd annual conference which promises to be another sold out event.
LBA Global Business Conference (GBC)
The LBA Global Business Conference is presented in partnership with other associations and non-profit entities to build economic opportunity in the community. It offers LBA members a unique opportunity to unite for innovation and business development, and partake in discussions of educational, advocacy and economic issues. It includes a VIP Reception, Business Luncheon and formal addresses from high-level elected officials and LBA members and partners. Attendees enjoy the opportunity to connect with LBA members, corporate America and key Latino and other community leaders. The event features a program with seminar tracks/panel discussions focusing on business and economic-related subject matter pertinent to the Latino business community. Panelists include: elected officials, CEOs from around the world, industry experts in a myriad of industries and educators from top universities. It also includes a limited exhibit floor. An extensive marketing campaign precedes the event, utilizing English and Spanish language television, radio, print and email advertising.
2nd Annual LBA Multi-National Chambers Event
The 2nd Annual LBA Multi-National Networking Event – bringing together business people of different nationalities and cultures to explore business opportunities worldwide – is much more than a mere mixer. The LBA, our partner organizations and Southern California and other Greater Area Chambers of Commerce unite with other Southern California Business Chambers, many representing business interests from around the world, with one purpose in mind – to do business together!
LBA Christmas Celebration and Toy Drive
The LBA Christmas Celebration and Toy Drive celebrates our Members’ and Corporate Partners’ participation, while brightening the lives of underprivileged children. We conclude the year by expressing our appreciation for the generous, sustained support of our membership, sponsors and partners which make each year successful for the LBA and more prosperous for the community. At the same time, charitable donations of new, unwrapped toys bring smiles to needy children in the community and spread the spirit of the holiday season. The LBA invites other organizations to join and become collaborative partners. Together, the LBA, its Partners and members of the community participate in a well-organized distribution of toys, which includes a visit from Santa Claus and lots of holiday music and cheer!
LBA/Aflac Members’ Picnic
Based on the importance of family to the Latino culture, the LBA and Corporate Partner Aflac host an annual picnic event for its members and their families that includes an outdoor facility, food, entertainment and games, with the goal being to create an environment where LBA members can combine networking with family fun. This annual event embraces the LBA’s philosophy of emphasizing family as a theme.
LBA Leadership Board Retreat
The LBA Board of Directors Retreat is designed to assist and guide the new Board. Board members are introduced to the LBA’s history, general goals, events and programs among other information. New Board members are also introduced to the LBA’s policies and procedures and good ethics practices. The Board retreat serves as a venue for the Board to create a plan of action for the upcoming year and an opportunity for each Board member to make commitments.
