Dorene C. Dominguez as the “Entrepreneur of the Year” in Los Angeles!
WASHINGTON, D.C., April 4, 2012- The Anna Maria Arias Foundation along with LATINA Style Inc., the premier company addressing the needs of the Latina business owner and professional workingwoman, will honor Dorene C. Dominguez, President of the Board, Vanir Group of Companies, Inc., as LATINA Style Entrepreneur of the year for 2012 during the LATINA Style Business Series in Los Angeles, CA.
The event will take place on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the HILTON Los Angeles/Universal City (555 Universal Hollywood Dr. Universal City, CA 91608).

Bio of Dorene C. Dominguez
Dorene C. Dominguez succeeded her late father, H. Frank Dominguez in 2004, to become the Chairman of the Board, President & CEO of the Vanir Group of Companies, Inc. In this position, Ms. Dominguez oversees 18 offices throughout the United States, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. The Vanir Companies employ a growing staff of more than 300 talented executives, architects, engineers, construction managers, developers, contractors and support staff. Vanir is the leading provider of education facilities (K-12) in the State of California and is ranked 33rd in Engineering News Record for Program Management.
Ms. Dominguez is an active member of various community improvement projects, boards and commissions. She founded the Vanir Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that partners with schools to bring innovative programs to children in underserved communities. Ms. Dominguez currently serves as Chairman of the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame, she is a member of the Advisory Council of the Lusk Center for Real Estate at the University of Southern California, and is on the Boards of New America Alliance, PRIDE Industries and the SUCCEED Academy. She previously served as a member of the American River Bank Board of Directors, National Council of La Raza, the Los Angeles Planning Commission, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE), California State Board of Geology and Geophysics and is a Governor’s Appointee to the California State Medical Board.
Ms. Dominguez graduated from the University of Notre Dame and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance.
