Mentorship/Scholarship Program

New to the LBAI this year is a Scholarship and Mentoring Program for Children in the greater Metro LA area. The LBAI will be hosting a ten month program on two Saturdays a month from 9 am to 12 pm in which students from local schools will be exposed to the types of jobs available while learning some of the basic skills for those professions. It is our strong belief that the prospect of a rewarding career will keep our kids off of the streets and out of gangs. Events include subjects like business, technology, and, sales in introductory and advanced format. The events are hosted at the LBA or by sponsor companies that can give tours that allow children to experience what a day in the life of different jobs is like. Our goal is simply to let students know that “they can start these professions” so that their own limiting beliefs or upbringing doesn’t hold them back from achieving their goals.

Students will graduate by attending a minimum number of classes. Upon their graduation, each student will be presented with scholarship ranging from $500 to $1,500 from our generous supporters and their scholarship programs.

With the support of our sponsors and scholarship donors, we will be part of a great mission creating our next generation of employees, employers, and LBA members.

More details to come!
